Preliminary Examination

The initial appointment is a clinical examination to determine your orthodontic needs. We will advise you of any orthodontic issues and the necessary treatment. The fee for the entire treatment, its anticipated length and financial options will be discussed. Dr. Twaddle may request that an X-ray be taken at this appointment. There is no fee charged at this appointment.

Diagnostic Records

If treatment is indicated, records will be taken to enable Dr. Twaddle to determine the corrective procedures. We will take the impressions for the upper and lower study models, facial and oral photographs, panoramic and cephalometric X-rays. There is no fee charged at this appointment.

Consultation and Bonding

Both parents and patient are encouraged to attend. Dr. Twaddle will discuss the specific orthodontic problems as well as the plan of treatment. After this discussion with Dr. Twaddle, patients' brackets will be bonded or the appliance will be placed for treatment. We will also set up your financial contract, and the first payment will be due at this appointment.

Family Dentist

You must have your teeth cleaned and all cavities filled before your orthodontic treatment can begin. We recommend that you continue to be seen every six months for cleaning and cavity checks after your bands are placed. For his or her use, your dentist may take additional X-rays.
